For the annual New Cross + Deptford Free Film Festival, Art Hub Studios are presenting an evening of short films, selected through an Open Call. If you have a short film you have directed, acted in, produced or been a part of please read the sections below and apply.

What is the New Cross + Deptford Free Film Festival?

• The annual New Cross & Deptford Free Film Festival (NXDfff) is part of a community of free film festivals, bringing people together to enjoy free cinema and celebrate their local neighbourhood. Formed in 2010, Free Film Festivals is entirely not-for-profit and run by volunteers. All film licences and equipment is funded by donations and fundraising by volunteers.

• Submission Deadline: Sunday 5th April, Midnight

• Festival: Friday 24th April to Sunday 2nd May 2026

• Short Film Showcase: Wednesday 29 April 2025, 7pm

Terms & Conditions.

• Applicants must fill in a Diversity & Inclusion Monitoring Form

• You can only share one film option with us

• You must have the rights to show the film in public on the date above (proof may be required)

• Maximum 10 mins length per film (we will review films a few seconds over this, but the final decision is with Art Hub Studios)

• If selected, you must provide a downloadable version (.MP4, .MOV) at a quality good enough to be projected using a laptop.
