Half - Term Ceramics

Wednesday Mornings:

Age:‍ ‍10 - 15 years old

Tutors: Verity Wong & Annie Rose

Times: 10AM - 1:00PM (Including 10 min snack break)

What to Bring: Wear old clothes as you may get messy. Nut free snack and a bottle of water

What’s included: All materials and firings

Where: Art Hub Studios, Mornington Centre, Stanley St, SE8 4BL

Participants will be taught a variety of hand-building techniques, as well as being introduced to methods for surface decoration using colourful slips.

The sessions will cover:

→ Introduction to clay

→ Pinch and coil techniques

→ Slip decoration

About Verity Wong:

Verity Wong is a London based visual artist and Ceramicist. Her work focuses primarily on hand thrown functional ceramics, with a combination of minimal glazes and expressive mark making.

Verity has worked for many years teaching community arts across all age groups including SEN. She currently teaches art classes at Blackheath Conservatoire and Sydenham Gardens. She also facilitates outreach art workshops for the Blackheath Conservatoire providing art workshops at local schools. 

About Annie Rose:

Annie’s work ranges from sculptural to functional ware, with a focus on making beautiful objects which are delightful to use and look at. As well as ceramics, she has a background in drawing and painting, which influences her work with clay.

Annie has been working in ceramics for the last three years as an apprentice, making functional ware for restaurants. Her personal practice is focused on creating sculpture and one-off objects.

Cancellations and Refunds: If you cancel 7 days or more before the course begins, we will provide a full refund minus a £10 admin fee. If you cancel less than 7 days before the start date of the course no refund will be given.

All our courses run on a minimum number of participants. If we do not reach the minimum number of participants for the course we unfortunately have to cancel. We will notify you 7 days before the start date and you will receive a full refund or we can transfer over to another date.
