A flexible 6 week evening course, where students can choose to commit to the full 6 weeks, 3 week blocks or a one off depending on your availability.

Ideal for complete beginners, those looking to develop their existing hand building skills, and makers who would like dedicated time and space to explore their own clay projects with the support of a tutor.

Students will have final pieces fired in time for Christmas.

*Course includes a one week break between the final two sessions to allow enough time for drying and firing before the final glazing process.

What to Bring: Wear old clothes as you may get messy.

Top Tip: It’s easier to have trimmed nails as your hands will be your primary tools

Where: Art Hub Studios, Mornington Centre, Stanley St, SE8 4BL

Students will be taught/supported on a variety of hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building, as well as being introduced to methods for surface decoration using colourful slips. The last session is dedicated to glazing.

About Annie Rose:

Annie’s work ranges from sculptural to functional ware, with a focus on making beautiful objects which are delightful to use and look at. As well as ceramics, she has a background in drawing and painting, which influences her work with clay.

Annie has been working in ceramics for the last three years as an apprentice, making functional ware for restaurants. Her personal practice is focused on creating sculpture and one-off objects.

Cancellations and Refunds: If you cancel 7 days or more before the 6 weeks course begins, we will provide a full refund minus a £10 admin fee. If you cancel less than 7 days before the course starting date of the course (13th October), no refund will be given.

All our courses run on a minimum number of participants. If we do not reach the minimum number of participants for the course we unfortunately have to cancel. We will notify you 7 days before the start date and you will receive a full refund or we can transfer over to another date.

Participants must be over the age of 18.
